Privacy Policy

CryoChain Inc. and CryoChain Ghana Ltd. (together “CryoChain,” “we,” “us”) run this website and the CryoChain mobile and web app (the “App”), which connects farmers, buyers and refrigerated trucks in Ghana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website and the App, why, who receives it, and the choices you have, including how to delete your account.

1. Information We Collect

(a) Account details. Your phone number or email address (used to send you a one-time sign-in code), the role you choose (farmer or buyer), and your name or organisation name.

(b) Farmers. Farm address and map pin, locality, preferred language, produce listings (product, weight, grade, photos), and your Mobile Money payout wallet (network, number and registered name).

(c) Buyers. Organisation name, saved delivery addresses with map coordinates, carts, orders and cold-truck bookings (pickup and drop-off places, times and amounts).

(d) Location. With your permission, the App uses your device location while it is open to pin your farm or delivery address on the map. Drivers on a collection run share their position with CryoChain operations. We do not collect location in the background when the App is closed.

(e) Photos. Photos you take or choose in the App, such as produce, crates, scales and cold-box gauges. We only access the camera or photos when you use those features.

(f) Messages. Chat messages between a buyer and the driver of a booked truck, and notifications or SMS messages we send you about your orders, trips and payments.

(g) Payments. Payments are handled by Paystack. We receive the transaction reference, amount, status and payment channel. We do not receive or store your full card number or Mobile Money PIN.

(h) Website. If you use our contact forms or request investor materials we collect the details you enter, such as name, email, organisation and role, and, where applicable, information needed to verify accredited-investor status. Our servers and hosting providers log technical data such as IP address, browser and pages visited.

Website cookies, analytics and video

(c) Information from cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar local-storage technologies to remember your preferences, measure aggregate traffic patterns, and improve performance. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you across unrelated third-party sites. With your permission, we use Google Analytics, and embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies, as described in Section 10. You can change your choices at any time under Cookie settings at the foot of every page.

Analytics (Google Analytics). If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to count visits and understand which pages and features are used, so that we can improve the Site. Google Analytics does not load unless you accept analytics cookies, and you can withdraw your permission at any time under Cookie settings. Google's processing of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Embedded video (YouTube). Some pages of the Site, including Insights articles, show videos hosted by YouTube, a service operated by Google LLC. We embed these videos in YouTube's privacy enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). A video, or a short silent preview shown when you point at a video card, loads from YouTube only if you have allowed videos under Cookie settings or you choose to play that video. Until then, the Site shows a still image stored on our own servers. When a video loads, YouTube and Google receive information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and the page you are viewing, and may set cookies or similar technologies on your device. Their use of that information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy), not by this Privacy Policy. You can withdraw your permission at any time under Cookie settings.

The App does not contain advertising and does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The cookie, analytics and video details above apply to the website only.

2. How We Use Information

To create and secure your account; to list, sell, collect, deliver and pay for produce; to book and track cold trucks; to send payouts to farmers; to send sign-in codes and order or trip notifications; to prevent fraud and misuse; to give support; to improve the service; and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who We Share It With

Other users, only as needed for a transaction: a buyer sees the product and delivery information for their order; the assigned driver sees pickup and drop-off places and the buyer’s or farmer’s name and phone for that job; farmers and buyers do not see each other’s wallet or contact details.

Service providers that process data for us under contract: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Paystack (payments and payouts), Twilio (SMS), Google (Maps, address search and routing), and our website hosting and email providers.

Authorities and advisers where required by law or to protect rights and safety, and a successor business if CryoChain is merged or sold.

4. International Transfers

CryoChain operates in Ghana and the United States, and our providers may process data in other countries. Where required we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

5. How Long We Keep It

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account (section 7) we erase your personal details straight away. Records of payments, orders, settlements and payouts are retained, without your name, phone, email, address or wallet details, for as long as tax, accounting and anti-fraud rules require. Server logs are kept for a limited period.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and payout wallet details are visible only to you and authorised operations staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your phone and never share your sign-in code.

7. Your Rights and Deleting Your Account

You can access and correct your details in the App’s profile screen, and you can ask for a copy of your data or object to certain processing at any time. Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and, where they apply, laws such as the GDPR, you may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

To delete your account: in the App open Profile (farmers) or Account (buyers), tap Delete account and confirm. Or follow the steps on our account deletion page. If you have a payment, order or payout still in progress, deletion is paused until it has settled.

8. Children

CryoChain is for businesses and farmers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the App or by SMS or email.
